I will describe the average weather in South Korea in June.
Firstly, it is scorching and humid, because our country is closer to the equator than the U.K and it is surrounded by water on three sides. The temperature is increasing every year, so a lot of specialists say “The reason is climate change “.
Secondly, the rainy season comes in June. It is constantly pouring with rain for about a month, so some areas which have bad drainage and intensive rains have flood damage.
Lastly, sometimes, a typhoon comes. In summer, in the South Pacific lots of typhoons appear, but only one or two typhoons reach my country each year, because most typhoons shift course to Japan and suddenly disappear. However if the typhoon comes to my country, it can be a serious danger which causes flood and gale-force winds.

I think mood depends on colour and humidity of weather.
The colour can distinguish between blue and grey in the sky. When there is bright sunshine and no cloud, it is blue sky, and it can make people feel good. And opposite, when there is lots of cloud and no sunshine, it is grey, it can make people feel dull and gloomy. According to specialists, sunshine has an element that causes more hormone which makes humans feel better in the body. Therefore, when the weather is grey, we can be depressed more easily.
Furthermore, humidity is important to control the mood. When the weather is scorching and humid, people can be hot-tempered, getting annoyed and lazy.  Many people think temperature is more important than humidity. However, in my opinion, humidity affects more our mood.

Hiro's Post

A few weeks before was unbelievable. Though I was warned of British weather, there was a terrible downpour which spoiled our Cambridge tour.
The main problem is British people don’t seem to understand the need for a coat in June for foreigners. Our guide continued explaining as if it was a sunny day and as if he was in a trance.
Moreover I saw some crazy Harry Potters who took part in a graduation ceremony in that icy downpour. Please tell me what are you high? Take a picture? No thank you.
Even going for a hot latte was uncomfortable because the pub was equipped with an air conditioner which we got the totally awesome cold.
In June, it’s usually raining a lot, hot, and very humid every day in Japan. If you move a little bit, you will sweat immediately. I think it isn’t comfortable for us.
This period is has a special name which is called ‘tuyu’ in Japanese, it means the rainy season, and summer starts after that. This period is very important for us and plants to get water, though I don’t really like it. So we hardly ever suffer from drought except farmers and people who need much water. We can see hydrangeas at a lot of places in the season. Hydrangeas really match temples, I think it’s very beautiful. However, it’s also the period in which everything goes mouldy. We have to be careful especially for food not to have food poisoning.
This weather makes me happy or melancholy. The day which is very hot and humid, it makes me melancholy. I don’t want to go out on such a day because of sweating and feeling uncomfortable. But even though it’s raining, I like to go to a temple to see hydrangeas. I can relax and feel happy. In this respect I like this season.

England vs Italy

Every day when I listen to the radio weather forecast for London on the BBC website, I become surprised. This year was a particular June in London because usually the weather in this period of the year is mild and very pleasant. If I think about this June in London, I can talk about wind, rain or pouring rain but not about sunny summer weather.
Normally I don’t like boiling summer because I prefer a temperature settled between 23 and 30 °C whit very dry weather. If I think about the temperature in London, I’m really satisfied because with this weather I don’t sweat.
On the other side I usually live in a country where the weather is quite different in this season because in Italy we have high temperature, heat and sunny days. In my opinion this kind of weather is lovely and is the primary reason why my country is one of the most common destinations chosen by tourists from all over the world. The only problem is that if you have to work instead of having fun on the beach or on the sea, it is really difficult to focus on your job because you constantly think about the vacation. Sometimes we have also storming periods but are an exception and not the routine.
England and Italy are two different countries not just for the culture or the geographical position but also for the different climate, that’s why I like both of them and their differences.

Unbelievable weather :)

Monday 18th June.
Today was unbelievable. In the morning, there were gale-force winds and dizzling. I remember last week, it was warm, almost sunny days. So I think it may be cold, so I wore long-sleeved clothes. It was chilly. According to the news, England was back to the winter. After class the weather changed to warm. People enjoyed the sunny day. They're sunbathing, cycling in the park. At the time, I realized it. It's changeable weather. So I thoroughly enjoyed sunny day.
There is the rainy season, which lasts for about a month, in Japan. It usually sets in at the beginning of June, and accordingly it has already set in. It rains almost every day and the sky is overcast even when it doesn’t rain. The temperature is high, and to make matters worse, the air is really humid. Your skin will get sticky and your hair will get frizzy. Fortunately transport in Japan is air-conditioned perfectly. It will refresh you when you go out.
This season makes me gloomy every year. I feel I don’t want to go anywhere. Scorching summer is waiting for me even after it passed. It’s a nightmare!

We’ve been talking about the weather this week, so now I’d like you to put up a short posting, either telling us what the weather is like at this time of year in your country, or telling us about the weather in London recently.

In case you’d like to see it again, here is the video we watched in class:
