My tour recommended for one day in London is as follows. The first step is to visit the market Portobello Road Market. Walk along the street lined by benches and then If you need a break you can stop by Gail's. Inside it you will be absorbed by the smell of good muffins or salty cakes, so inside is very comfortable but outside you can enjoy the walk. After the market take the bus which brings you to the National Gallery, I do not remember exactly the number but the stop is just right in front of the shop "Arancina". I recommend the bus, instead of the underground, especially to sit on the second floor, because you can see the scenarios and take some pictures. In the National Gallery I recommend you relax on those huge sofas to admire the paintings of Turner and then get lost in the halls trying to find Botticelli, Monet, Van Gogh. Leaving the National Gallery, from its stairs you can see Big Ben. Continue on foot towards Leister Square, through the neighborhood of Soho and arrive to Covent Garden. Now you must eat the in fish and chips restaurant apparently the most famous of London. If it's a sunny day, I’m afraid it will be difficult, eat outside and enjoy a huge plate of fries and fish.
After well-deserved lunch, walk along the streets adjacent to Covent Garden, arriving at the square and stayed if there is a street artist who draws your attention. Supposing that it is always good weather, go to St. James Park to enjoy the atmosphere of the lawn and the English lake, take a break on a nice wooden bench, close your eyes and take a balance of your life.
Now go up the Thames, the wheel is a truly beautiful, but expensive so choose if you want to spend this money to an impressive panorama! Head to the Tate Modern and visit it, take a break at the cafe on the top floor. Then on the Thames there are a lot of pubs so definitely you have to enter into one of these to hear some drunken English speech but especially to feel the smell of beer infused wood!
Are you ready for the final stop? A romantic dinner on the top floor of the National Portrait! If you're with your boyfriend or girlfriend it should be ideal. Remember to book!
Unbelievable!!

ReplyDeleteThis would be a wonderful day out in London! Come on, girls, who is going to invite Michael or Pere out for a romantic dinner? :-) I think the fish and chips restaurant you mention is the Rock and Sole Plaice which is only a few minutes away from IH in Covent Garden - maybe you should try it one lunchtime?
